While in Memphis, Susan was founding chairman of the Memphis Chapter of Women in Construction and was on the Board of the Executive Women's Golf Association. Susan assumed the role of Regional Marketing Director in 1995 and was promoted to Vice President of Membership and Event Sales in 2001 for Club Corp, working with 27 clubs in 9 states. In late 2005, Susan retired from her position as VPMS to move with her husband to Jacksonville, FL to become the General Manager of the University Club of Jacksonville.

Her love for not-for profits led her to the University Club of Orlando where she served as the General Manager and CEO of the club's Foundation, but her passion for membership has led her to The Oaks Club in Osprey. After 10 years, she once again was called to the helm and currently serves as the GM/COO of Waterlefe Golf and River Club in Bradenton, FL.

A featured columnist for Boardroom Magazine (the official publication for the Association of Private Clubs and Directors), past National President of the Private Club Marketing Association, one of 15 Master Certified Membership Professionals in the nation, Licensed Community Association Manager, and Licensed Realtor, she was recently appointed to the a national committee for CMAA.  Susan is often called upon as a keynote speaker in the hospitality realm, most recently speaking to 10,000 SCORE professionals.

She and her husband, Bobby have three children and two grandchildren. Her passion for building relationships in the hospitality industry is displayed by her humor, smile, and positive attitude.

Followed by The Art of Mindful Engagement with
Guest Speaker, Adam James

In a time where we are seemingly so much more connected due to technological advances, many are still left feeling disconnected from their work, in their conversations, and throughout life. In The Art of Mindful Engagement, Adam James will share strategies to help individuals reconnect to why and reignite the passion in their work and life.

We will explore techniques that can be leveraged to more meaningfully engage when in conversation with colleagues, or when standing before a prospective member and sharing your club's story or value proposition.

This session will not only inspire you to look introspectively to recalibrate, but too, will equip you with tangible practices to enhance your individual effectiveness and operate mindfully in a world where it's become so easy to always have a mind full of worry, angst, and overwhelm.
