Dr. George Alexakis

Dr. George Alexakis is a management professor, speaker, trainer, and consultant. He has presented more than 50 invited addresses for groups as diverse as Fortune 500 companies, not-for-profits, small businesses, universities, and government agencies.

Dr. Alexakis is a published author, having written several articles and an human resources textbook chapter in the above areas. He has trained or consulted across the country as well as Canada, Greece, Israel, Jamaica, Panama, The Bahamas, and Turks and Caicos.

Numerous organizations have enlisted the services of Dr. Alexakis. A partial list includes: CMAA, Perry Ellis, Ryder, Burger King International Headquarters, Alamo Rent A Car, Sandals Resorts International, Grace Kennedy & Co., Westin Hotels

Dr. Alexakis has had three distinct careers:
-Full-service restaurant and banquet operations
-Hospitality and foodservice consulting
-Hospitality university teaching and administration

His operations experience of more than 15 years includes managing an upscale dining room, a formal banquet hall, and a family-style restaurant just outside of Toronto, Canada. He worked for Cini·Little International, Inc. as a hospitality/foodservice consultant and marketing manager. He has hired, trained, and developed more than 1000 people.

Dr. Alexakis is currently Associate Professor of Resort & Hospitality Management at Florida Gulf Coast University. He has graduated from four hospitality college programs, including a Doctor of Higher Education with a concentration in Hospitality Management.
